8.0/10

The hotel had very spacious and comfortable rooms, with a new shower room and a lovely warm atmosphere. However, traffic noise was a significant issue during the stay. The service was fantastic, with extremely welcoming and helpful staff. The location was excellent, just minutes from the seafront, offering convenience for evening outings. The dining experience was a bit basic, lacking some drink options, but the breakfast was nice and warm. Overall, great value for money and a place to consider revisiting.

5.2/10

The room we booked had plumbing issues, being sold as a twin but actually a single, with a small and cramped shower and shallow tray. There was a damp smell and the room was very basic, full of mold and tiny, not as advertised on booking.

Rooms

The room was not as expected, with plumbing issues, a small shower, and a damp smell.
Service
7.0
The staff were polite and responsive without needing to ask other staff members for assistance.
Location

The hotel is conveniently located near the seafront, but it needs some maintenance. It offers a massive room with a sea view and is a short walk to various amenities.
Dining
5.0
The dining experience, especially during breakfast, was average. The buffet service had issues with cutlery, requiring replacements multiple times.
Facilities
The facilities need attention, with rotting doors and frames, and maintenance required throughout the hotel.

7.0/10

My stay at the hotel was a mix of positives and negatives. The rooms offered a lovely view over the gardens and to the sea, but they were quite dated. The service was excellent, with nice views and a great location, though there was a rude encounter upon arrival. The location was fine, close to attractions, but could use some revamping to make it more inviting. The dining experience provided a good range of options, although the food could have been hotter. Overall, it was a decent stay with some room for improvement.

Rooms

My room had a lovely view over the gardens and to the sea. It had been upgraded to a larger room, but it was also very dated.
Service
8.0
The service was generally excellent, with nice views and an excellent location. However, there was a moment of rudeness upon arrival.
Location
6.0
The hotel is in a fine location, offering garden and sea views and within walking distance of the main attractions of Torquay. It could benefit from some updates to enhance its appeal.
Dining
7.0
The dining experience was overall good, with a well-stocked buffet and prompt dish clearing. However, the food could have been hotter.
Facilities
7.0
The facilities were decent, but there is room for improvement to enhance the overall guest experience.
